A message to our customers and vendors

On April 3, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that everyone wear a simple, cloth face covering while out in public.

The same day, the Long Beach Post, with the assistance of the City of Long Beach, launched this marketplace to fill an urgent need in our community, to connect local makers and businesses with people looking to purchase masks and face coverings.

Since then, masks and face coverings have become more widely available. This shop was always envisioned as a short-term solution to fill an immediate need, so as we move into the next phase of the ongoing pandemic, it’s time for our staff to move on to other projects.

All of us here would like to thank our terrific makers and vendors for answering this important call in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis. We’re sincerely grateful for all of your hard work.

Thank you as well to our customers for supporting local businesses and makers, and keeping money in our community during this time.

The Long Beach Post shop will go offline Monday, October 12. Please place any final mask and PPE orders by Friday, October 9.

Thank you,

Dennis Dean, Director of Product & the entire Long Beach Post staff

P.S. The Long Beach Post provided this shop as a free service to our community, and took no commission on the sales made here. If you’d like to support our reporting and other projects like this one, please visit lbpost.com/support.
